"The cottage is beautifully furnished and kitted out. It is situated in a lovely village, with local shops and a couple of pubs serving good food and excellent beer. The local area is ideal for both serious walkers and 'strollers'. The owners who live next door are extremely welcoming, and knowledgeable about the local area. There was an excellent welcome pack that was much appreciated. I would have no hesitation in recommending The Retreat to anyone." (Chris, Burnley, 31/05/2013
"Really friendly welcome, even a fresh loaf of bread from the local bakery. Amazing views from the retreat.
Cottage is to a really high standard, was everything we had hoped for and more." (Paul, Bedford, 06/05/2013)
" Lovely newly renovated cottage with beautiful views. It was very clean and completed to a high spec. The owners (next door) were very polite and helpful. The only minor annoyance was the kitchen sink did not include a side drainer (there is no dishwasher) so leaving dishes to dry was awkward. " (Lynn, Milton Keynes, 28/09.2013)
" Fabulous accommodation and great location. Will definitely go again ." (Helen, London, 15/10.2013)

"The Retreat is fantastic. Everything we could of hoped for. Ian showed us around on arrival and pointed out the nice little bits that make a difference when you've had a bit of a journey. Fresh milk, bread and eggs so that was our breakfast sorted for our first morning. The cottage itself is new and stylish and ticked every box for us. Thankyou."

"Totally agree with previous comments. A beautifully presented and appointed retreat. Good info about the area; we have really enjoyed the local walks (and the local pub's!)". (Keith and Isabel, Lincoln, 10/7/2013)
"We have enjoyed our stay at The Retreat, it has been a comfy and relaxing place to be. The views and beautiful, pub food - great with friendly greeting from the villagers, but it has gone 'sooo' quick! Many thanks, hope to be back soon.'
